Town of Middlebury Selectboard
Public Input Meeting on Temporary
Relocation of ACTR Transit Hub

 Tuesday, June 27, 2017
5:30 p.m.
Large Conference Room
Middlebury Town Offices
77 Main Street

In order to prepare for construction associated with the Main Street and Merchants Row Bridges, the Town of Middlebury and ACTR are working to identify a temporary transit hub in order to move the transit hub from its long-time location on Merchants Row during construction.  The temporary relocation period is anticipated to start in November 2017 and run through the end of 2020.

Locations under consideration for the relocated transit hub include:

  • College Street, just east of the intersection of Weybridge Street on the north side of College Street, with large bus transfers on Academy Street
  • Seymour Street, just south of the historic train station, both sides of the street
  • South Pleasant Street, north end of the street, starting opposite the Soldier’s Monument, south for approximately 200’.  Under this proposal, South Pleasant Street would become one-way.
The purpose of this meeting is to collect public input on these proposed alternatives in order for the Selectboard to make a final recommendation for the temporary relocation of the transit hub at their July 11, 2017 meeting.

Maps of the proposed locations are available on the Town’s website at: Residents > Bridge and Rail Project > ACTR Transit Hub.
