- Parking on any Town Highway between the hours of twelve midnight and six o'clock A.M. from November 1 through March 31, is prohibited, except where specifically permitted and signed.
- A motor vehicle parked in violation of the winter parking ban may be towed and impounded at the owner’s expense by order of the police of the Town of Middlebury.
PARKING ON SIDEWALKS
In order to ensure proper clearing / treating of sidewalks it is essential that vehicles be parked so as not to obstruct sidewalks. We ask that you not park on sidewalks and do not allow vehicles parked in driveways to encroach into the Town right-of-way.
VERMONT STATUTE -23 VSA § 1126a. - DEPOSITING SNOW ONTO OR ACROSS CERTAIN HIGHWAYS PROHIBITED
- No person, other than an employee in the performance of his or her official duties or other person authorized by the Agency of Transportation (in the case of State highways) or Select Board (in the case of Town highways), shall plow or otherwise deposit snow onto the traveled way, shoulder, or sidewalk of a State highway or a class 1, 2, or 3 Town highway.
PLACEMENT OF GARBAGE CANS
If you are leaving garbage / recycling receptacles at the end of your driveway for pick up, please remember to place them well out of the Town right-of-way in order to avoid damage from snow plows and to keep plow drivers safe. Please pass this request on to your hauler as well.
