Middlebury Downtown Master Planning Project

Middlebury Downtown Master Planning Project

The Middlebury Downtown Master Planning project is an initiative being led by the Middlebury Planning Commission and Town Planner.  The lead consultant and facilitator for the project is Town Planning and Urban Design Collaborative (TPUDC), a firm that works nationwide based out of Franklin, Tennessee.

We are currently conducting input and data gathering until the end of the year, for the purpose of creating a Master Plan Document guiding future development in Downtown Middlebury.  For more about the plan and process, see the "Project Libary," at left.

The master planning process includes a unique input-gathering event called Planapalooza, lasting for 5 days (11/4 - 11/11/19).  During that time, our consultant team will remain immersed in the people and surroundings of Middlebury, holding hundreds of conversations with residents and business owners and gaining a meaningful understanding of what makes our community tick.

But we need your participation!

Middlebury’s Planapalooza is the community’s chance to weigh-in on determining the future of Downtown Middlebury.  Please attend one of our Public Meetings.

Want to have your own meeting?  There is no substitute for the exchange of ideas that occurs when people get together in a face-to-face setting.  We have developed an “On the Table” packet that allows community members to self-facilitate discussions with friends and neighbors, regarding the future of Downtown Middlebury.  Simply record or document your conversation and return to jmurray@townofmiddlebury.org.  It’s that easy!

Or stop by the Municipal Offices at 77 Main Street to pick up a printed version from the Planning Department.
